I have been on the receiving end of some good mail this week. The first happy I got was from The Black Apple‘s Etsy shop. Being somewhat dark myself, I have a strong affinity for her work in general, but when I saw this, I could not resist. This could actually be a picture of me circa 1991 – I was the Smiths Girl. This print makes me happy, so happy. Ah, the irony!

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure – the privilege is mine

Oh, there is a light and it never goes out
There is a light and it never goes out…..

(Just in case anyone is wondering, yes, I did take my meds last night!)

In less ironic happy mail news…

I got my Fall Swap package(s) from Joanna yesterday.  Yippee!

And then a second package arrived…

Do you see the colors?  So me!  Joanna must have been stalking my blog.  The tote bag is already in use, as are the napkins and the apron.  I am starting to scheme some projects for the fabric scraps and the yarn. And the chocolate – ahem– was mighty tasty.  (I only ate one bar, honestly!)

Joshua begged to use the cool twig colored pencils to do his homework last night. I am happy for the kid’s to use them, but there’s not a chance I am going to let those pencils disappear into the abyss that is the kids’ room!

I really need to watch myself and not get addicted to swaps. They are the perfect combination: an opportunity to create for people you know will appreciate the effort and the chance to receive cool handmade things.
